Der Bericht zeigt, dass globale Energiesysteme, die von Wind- und Solarenergie dominiert werden, zuverlässig Strom zu Kosten liefern können, die mit den Kosten der heutigen, auf fossilen Brennstoffen basierenden Energiesysteme in den meisten Teilen der Welt vergleichbar oder sogar niedriger sind.
